Killing Dog Fleas

At some point everyone who owns a pet will suffer from them having fleas. Grooming you dog often will allow you to catch an infestation of fleas as early as you can. Below are some suggestions of how to get rid of fleas in your home.

Borax ? sprinkle Borax over your carpet especially in the areas that you think could be most infected ie where your pet bed is. Leave the Borax on for 24 hours and make sure that it is kept free of pets, children and water. Hover the carpet thoroughly after the 24 hours to ensure that all the borax has been hovered up. Repeat this process in various rooms/places in your home if you feel fleas are elsewhere.

Common flea sprays ? these are the most popular and can normally be bought over the counter. They can have an advantage as they are easy to spray into corners of rooms and around furniture that other products can not get to. Ensure that you spray the whole room/Area that you think has fleas living in. leave for a while and then hover the spayed area to remove any fleas you have managed to get.

Smoke bomb ? these are smoke bombs that you buy. They are placed in the room(s) which you think you have fleas living in. The flea bomb then explodes and produces a chemical which fills the room and kills the fleas. The room should then be hovered to remove the chemical powder and any dead or dying fleas.

Home made solution ? try mixing Dawn dishwashing soap and water into a spray bottle and spray over the carpets. This is a child and pet friendly solution. The mixture you have created is not liked by the pesky fleas as the oil in the mixture will suffocate them.

Night Light ? sounds strange but try buying some night lights plug them in over night. In front of each night lights place a bowl of warm water containing dish soap, the lights will attract the fleas and they will hop into the water killing them off.
